Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pirate Haven, Soundside House in Beaufort, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. text the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
