Finding the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking your Havelock rental home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Seacluded Tree House, Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
