Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Speight House, Soundfront House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
