Tips to get the best Havelock rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Havelock attraction you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
