Havelock rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing your prefectrental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Why Knot Getaway. Emerald Isle Oasis has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
