Tips and Tricks for getting the best Havelock rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Why Knot Getaway. Emerald Isle Oasis has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
