Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 2nd-Floor Condo in Oceanfront Location w\/WiFi, Screened-In Balcony, Shared Pool has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a particular Havelock destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
