Getting the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Havelock rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3 Bed\/3 Bath ~ 2nd Floor Oceanfront Prime Condo ~ Elevator ~ 1205 Queens Court has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
