Tricks and tips to get the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Havelock rental:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. A beautiful place W\/ Ocean & Sound side view across street from Triple S Marina has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
