Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Havelock rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3rd-Floor Condo Overlooking Courtyard w\/Beach Views, WiFi, Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
