Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Havelock rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. A beautiful place W\/ Ocean & Sound side view across street from Triple S Marina has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
