Getting the best Emerald Isle rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Havelock rental home:
- To start, have your family commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Amazing Ocean Front Cottage on the Crystal Coast has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
