Our top Havelock vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- First, have your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Ange De Mer (Sea Angel) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
