Havelock rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming studio condo with wifi, pool, cable - just steps from the ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
