Tricks and tips to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beau Time in Beau Coast Community has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
