How to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Havelock area:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful, Family Friendly Home with multiple living spaces. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
