How to find the best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful view of Beaufort, Carrot\/Shackleford Isle, Cape Lookout and Ft. Macon has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
