Strategies to get the best rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Havelock rental home:

  • First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pelican's Nest - Soundside, 5 min to beach, 2BR 1BA, Atlantic Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
