Tips to get the very best Havelock rental experience:

When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing the rightrental home:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Pelican's Nest - Soundside, 5 min to beach, 2BR 1BA, Atlantic Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
