Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. The Lookout, Soundside House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
