How to book the best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental home:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautifully remodeled oceanfront condo with lovely views, pool access & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
