The Big Kahuna will be a great family destination for your summer vacation. There is plenty of space for a sizable family or multiple families. The view of the ocean is completely unobstructed and you can sit on the covered porch, relax on the oceanside sundeck or walk a few steps and be on the sand. With six bedrooms and five bathrooms, this cavernous home will sleep 18 people. The living area has plenty of seating and features a 65" TV. The dining area will seat 8 and there are also 4 barstools. The freshly refreshed kitchen has stainless appliances and handsome quartz countertops along with a tile backsplash. The kitchen is entirely supplied with all you will need to prepare meals for your family.
A very huge master suite has a king bed and an additional private sitting area where you can relax, read, and look at the ocean. Additionally, two other upstairs bedrooms are oceanfront with a handsome view. Both bedrooms have a king-sized bed and a comfortable chair for reading or looking at the ocean.
Downstairs is roomy and includes 3 bedrooms including a bedroom with 2 queens, a bedroom with 2 full beds, and a bedroom/game room with a queen-size bed, a full-size futon and a foosball table.
Plenty of books, games, and movies are available for your enjoyment. Each bathroom includes a shower and 4 of the baths also have a tub. There is no waiting for a shower after playing on the beach.
A double-car garage includes an additional washer/dryer along with enough space to park 2 cars if you like. There is also a ping pong table in the garage. An outdoor shower is also available to rinse off the sand.
The driveway will accommodate 5 cars.

Vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the bestrental:
- To start, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Big Kahuna - Oceanfront (As seen on HGTV Beach Hunters) has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
