Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your Havelock rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. BREATHTAKING VIEWS\/ DIRECT OCEAN FRONT has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
