Strategies to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking your prefect Havelock rental home:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Carousel, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
