Strategies to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Charming 3-bedroom house located in the heart of downtown Salter Path has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Havelock beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
