Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- To find the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by having your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Completely Renovated, Oceanfront Condo with WiFi, HDTVs & Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
