Booking the best Emerald Isle rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book a perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. ????Emerald Isle 3bedroom House Sound Side???? has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
During your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
