How to book the best Havelock rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Havelock vacation home:
- Start by having your group select trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Cute Lil' Condo on Intracoastal waterway with beach access and large pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
