Getting the best Havelock vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Havelock area:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Decks Ahoy, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 9 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
