Booking the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the best Havelock vacation home:

  • First, have your group decide on date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Lazy Days, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
