Direct beachfront duplex with giant deck overlooking the dunes and Oceanna Fishing Pier. When you vacation at the beach you want to be AT the beach not near the beach. Keys are supplied via a lock box, so check-in has no in person contact.
Our family has owned this unit for over 26 years, and we do annual updates for our guests' comfort. The 2020 and early 2021 period gave us an opportunity to do a total remodel with replacing most of the drywall, new floor, and fans. We have new modern appliances, deck furnishings just as a hotel would, hammocks below the deck and my favorite feature, outside enclosed showers with HOT & cold water for your outdoor showering enjoyment.
New wall colors, more parking and new covered entryway are just a few of the upgrades. We provide pretty much everything you need to walk in and relax. We provide a entirely supplied kitchen with spices, paper goods (when in short supply bring toilet paper and paper towels but we do start you off) , zip lock bags, aluminum foil ( bottom drawer beside refrigerator has paper towels and toilet paper) and just ask that you restock if you have time so the next guest has everything they need.
Each unit is a mirror image of the other except for color schemes and floor. Both units are refreshed annually, and during Covid we added a UVC germicidal light in our ductwork to kill viruses and mold to help make our heating and air system cleaner and better for those with allergies.
The Vacation Rental By Owner listing for the sister listing is 666411, so you can read the reviews there if you like. We also have a cleaning crew who lives locally to keep the unit in great shape throughout the season and follows current 2023 cleaning recommendations. Each side has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths plus the outdoor shower provides outdoor comfort when you come back from the beach. The humongous outdoor deck accepts everybody to spend time outside and eat on the deck, too, if you like. It's a great experience preparing your food with the supplied outdoor grille. Recent upgrades include a few new ceiling fans, new 4 burner stainless steel grille, new couch, new stove and new twin XL beds in the 3rd bedroom. If you adore sunsets and sunrises, please look at our photos. You'll notice very few sunrise photos (by choice) but tons of sunset photos. This is a rare east/west facing beach, so you get magnificant sunrises and amazing sunsets. We provide beach chairs and some toys for the kids too but remember to bring your beach towels.
Our neighbors own and manage the only privately owned Event Venue on the NC coast "The Cottage at The Crystal Coast" which is 5 homes up from ours. They host live events, concerts and weddings so check them out at www.thecottage.com. You might see a concert listed on their "live events" calendar and decide to walk to the concert with your friends or book a wedding event for the future and have guests stay at our units.
Having the pier just a few hundred yards away is an luxury you are sure to savor. Even if you don't fish, you can walk on the pier and see if anyone else is having luck and appreciating a drink from their bar or, better yet, make one and take it with you. If you like to surf, either side of the pier creates fantastic breakers and has always been known as one of the best surf spots on the island. If you would rather fish and don't like the pier, surf fishing right in front of our home can provide lunch or dinner!
You'll quickly notice our beach is very huge, wide, clean and relatively uncrowded. Our end of the beach is primarily single family homes for low density uncrowded beaches. If you want to walk the beach you can head towards the circle (town center for Atlantic Beach) and visit the world famed TackleBox (locals dive bar), have a beverage outside at Idle Hour or eat at one of multiple eateries. Just a few blocks from our unit (painless walk) can have you at Amos Mosquito's, arguably one of the best eateries around and the Island Grille, which is just up the street. It may be modest but the food is fantastic. You can always drive over to the Morehead City waterfront and choose between a dozen different eateries or head over to Beaufort and shop and dine on the waterfront.
Whithaven is a special place, I hope you get the opportunity to join us and see for yourself.

Atlantic Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Getting the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. DIRECT OCEANFRONT Duplex with large 3 level deck next to Oceanana Fishing Pier. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
