Booking the best vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ain't In No Hurry Today (Formerly, Dolphin's Lullaby), Oceanside House in Emeral has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
