Tips for getting the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OCEANFRONT home with breathtaking views East! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
