Strategies to get the very best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Front Dunescape Villas Condo! (Dunescape 335) has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
