How to book the best Havelock rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Emerald Cottage - renovated 1950s beach cottage one block to beach , hot tub has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
