Our top Havelock vacation rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. To find the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Enjoy Historic Downtown Beaufort, NC - Voted Best Small Town in America has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
