Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To find the best rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Reel Paradise is a waterfront Condo with a deep water boat slip has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
