Tips to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Great Ocean & Pool Views! 2 Bed 2 Bath Luxury Condo Sleeps 6 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
