Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. License to Chill - Atlantic Beach, ~NC~ has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
