Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- First, have your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Gypsea Soul of Beaufort- Beautiful home on Traders Lake in the heart of Beaufort has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
