Booking the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To get the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. First-Floor, Oceanfront Condo with a Beach View, WiFi, W\/D & Shared Pool has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
