Tips and Tricks to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Islandia West: Gorgeous Oceanfront Duplex 3BR, 3BA has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
