How to book the best vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Booking your Havelock vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your family commit to date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. NEW Look-Luxury Oceanfront Home in Dolphin Ridge W\/ Pool & Hot Tub????Epic Views has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
