Getting the best Havelock rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 6 Bedroom Beaufort Waterfront Paradise! On the water with dock and 2 boat lifts! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
