Finding the best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beachfront Condo with Amazing Ocean Views and Great Amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
