Tips to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- First, have your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanview Beach Home • Steps from the Sand • Elevator has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
