Tips for getting the best Beaufort rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
