Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- First, have your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
