Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Beaufort. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a particular Havelock beach you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
