Finding the best vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. My Shell A- Beach views\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
