How to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental home in the Havelock area:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. My Shell A- Beach views\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
