Our top Havelock rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, shift your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Atlantic Breeze South - Cozy & Renovated - Walk To Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
