Rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Reserve your Havelock vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your prefect Havelock vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. New Condo, Pool View, Walk to Beach, Arcade! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
