Havelock rental property booking tips:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book the bestvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. New Condo, Pool View, Walk to Beach, Arcade! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
