Strategies to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean and Sound Views - Pet Friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
