Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your Havelock vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Havelock vacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Reef 15-B2, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
